Reducing inflammation, swelling, pain, cellulite, and scars; calming of the nervous system; moving stagnant lymph and blood; hydrating and nourishing tissue; eliminating adhesions; and shifting body tissue PH are some of the powerful results yielded from Cupping Massage Therapy. This new-to-New Jersey massage modality assists in the drainage of stagnant fluids that have been trapped in the tissues of the body and bringing in new fluids to reinstate a healthy flow of fluids through the tissues, thereby keeping them hydrated, moving, and reducing the likelihood of disease and injury. Cupping Massage is based on Eastern practices and is a therapy that is a pleasant and gentle, non-invasive technique.
Cupping works by releasing tight, stiff or painful muscles and lifting fascia (connective tissue), thereby hydrating body tissues and enhancing blood flow; bringing inflammation up for release; and draining excess fluids by opening the lymphatic system. Additional benefits include cellulite reduction, pain relief, lymphatic drainage, shortened surgery recovery time and improved surgical results, reduced tightness and effects of scars, mobilized joints, and improved athletic performance.
A Massage Therapist places the cups on a person’s body and the cups do their magic. The cups can work either in stationary positions or can be used sliding across the skin. As the cups stay on the skin they create a myofascial release which can feel like the body butter melting. When the cups are removed, the skin feels softer to the touch and is revitalized.
Cups are made of hard plastic, silicone, or glass. The hard plastic and silicone cups work using a vacuum to create a gentle suction. Silicone cups are very flexible and can fit on rounded or small body areas, where the hard plastic or glass cups cannot fit. Glass cups use fire that has a warming effect and provide less suction.
